Thanks to the business model of Union’s End Safaris, we can offer you every animal species living in Namibia, as we are not restricted to one lodge.
Plains Game
Namibia is home to a vast range of plains game species, many of which are iconic to African landscapes. Common species include:
- Oryx (Gemsbok): Known for its striking long horns and beautiful markings, the oryx is the national symbol of Namibia and can be found across the country.
- Kudu: With its elegant spiral horns and distinctive white-striped coat, kudu is a sought-after antelope by hunters.
- Springbok: As one of the most popular animals of Namibia, this graceful antelope is well-known for its leaping ability and is found in abundance.
- Warthog: Recognizable by its tusks and bristly mane, warthogs are common in Namibia and provide a unique hunting experience.
- Hartebeest, Impala, Blue Wildebeest, and Zebra: These species roam the plains and offer diverse hunting opportunities for those looking for variety.

Predators
Namibia has strict regulations on hunting predators, with permits and quotas to ensure sustainable populations. These species include:
- Leopard: Namibia is one of the few countries where leopards are legally hunted, under strict regulation to protect the population.
- Cheetah: While hunting cheetah is restricted and highly regulated, certain permits may allow it in specific circumstances.
- Brown and Spotted Hyena: Though not commonly hunted, hyenas offer a challenging hunt for those interested in predators.

Big Wildlife
Hunting large species like elephant, buffalo, and rhinoceros is highly restricted and controlled in Namibia. Quotas are limited, and permits are issued to ensure that only older or problem animals are hunted:
- Elephant: Only available in select areas, elephant hunting in Namibia is regulated to support conservation efforts.
- Cape Buffalo: Found in northern Namibia, this formidable animal is known for its strength and resilience.
- Rhinoceros: Hunting of rhino is generally limited to white rhinoceros under special circumstances and for conservation funding purposes.
